ACLResolve

Where ACLers can redefine their identity and begin their journey to becoming the strongest physical and mental versions of themselves.

The reality is that the current system fails so many ACLers and the re-injury rates remain high. There doesn’t seem to be any sense of urgency to make big changes to mitigate this, and that never sat well with me. It is still largely seen as an injury that you get surgery to “fix,” and then after some healing and physical therapy, it gets better and you return to your sport. This could not be further from the truth, and it sets ACLers up for a huge mismatch between expectations and reality at best, and a re-injury or long term issues with their knee at worst. ACLResolve is my way of “doing something about it.” My team and I are incredibly passionate about serving this population and serving as an example for other clinicians who want to do better for the ACLers they work with. I am so glad that you are here!

Who ACLResolve is for

ACLResolve is for you if…

  • You are frustrated because you are not where you feel you should be in your recovery

  • You feel lost because you have been doing the same exercises for months and there does not seem to be a big picture plan for your return to sport

  • You are thinking about trying to recover without getting surgery

  • You are months or years out, feeling like you have settled for less than what you wanted to achieve and know that there is still progress to be made

  • You have lost faith in your current care team or clinician

  • You know that your options for high quality guidance are slim but you don’t know where to start

  • You are well aware of the grim re-injury and return to sport rates of this injury and you don’t want to become another statistic

  • We are here to support all of you, not just your knee. We talk about sleep and fueling habits, stress management, mental health, nothing is off limits.

    • We believe that any recovery from an injury can only be optimized if your whole environment and overall health are also at their best

    • We have other providers we trust and can refer you to in order to help you build a well rounded care team if more support is needed

    • You simply will not out-care us

  • We don’t provide the same templated program for all ACLers

    • We write out a roadmap for each client when they join our team and create their program from that. We adjust it accordingly based on their response and testing along the way

    • We adjust for higher stress times, for holidays/travel, and anything else life decides to throw at you so that you can stay consistent

  • Where appropriate, we tell you WHY you have certain exercises so that you can LEARN what is important for ACLers and you can take that with you when you leave us

    • We want you to find joy in training and take those habits with you for a healthier life of activity and sport in the future

  • We will tell you if we don’t think working with us is a good fit and we will point you in the right direction

    • Yes, you read that correctly. We don’t just enroll everyone who is interested, because we TRULY want what is best for you

What sets us apart

What clients are saying

“There’s so much misinformation out there about this surgery and about this recovery, and Steph was really patient with me and all of my questions, and it was the perfect balance of pushing me, making sure I was completing the workouts, and also tough love and expectation setting. I can confidently say that, had I gone with just a run of the mill in-person PT, that I would not have emerged from my ACL reconstruction as strong as I am and honestly, probably stronger than I was before the surgery. I'm excited to get back to normal life and get back to skiing, and I truly can't recommend working with Steph enough, and she's just been absolutely instrumental to my recovery as an athlete.” - Nicolette

“She wrote me weekly workouts, progressed me, watched my videos, answered my questions like, super thoughtfully… It was just the kind of care I really needed and the amount of attention I really needed to get back to where I wanted to be. I ran my first marathon last year in 2022, and I qualified for Boston, and I ran the Boston Marathon last month. And I've been able to handle the training and handle the races, and I have no knee issues, and I attribute all of that to ACL resolve and, and to the work I did with staff. And I've learned so much about staying injury free and strength training from them, and I'm just so appreciative of what they've done to me or for me and what they've enabled me to do.” - Liz

“About 6 months post surgery, I really started to plateau and was getting really frustrated. I took the leap and I reached out to Steph and honestly, it was the best decision I could have made… I had some pretty significant quad inhibition and we worked for months and months and months to improve that. I went from not being able to kick out ten pounds without shaking and being so weak to getting stronger over time. The goal was always to get back to playing volleyball, and so it took a long time. But stepping back out on the court and being able to play with confidence and to know that my knee would be okay has been amazing. It makes me appreciate the sport so much more and appreciate my ability to continue to play as I get older.” - Trish

FAQ’s

  • Nope! We work with all types of knee injuries and would be happy to discuss if it’s a good fit! If, for whatever reason we feel we are not the bet option to help you, we will let you know and point you in the right direction!

  • The short, honest answer is yes. We have some flexibility depending on what people have access to at home, (ie: we can split time between home and gym), but the reality is that after an ACL or knee injury, your focus needs to be on building LOTS of strength. And machines and gym equipment are the best way to do that. It cannot be done with bands and body weight.

  • We believe that every individual and their injury are different and we treat you as such. We do not use a cookie cutter approach. We also know that, with an ACL injury or other serious knee injury, working with a coach for 1-2 months just isn’t going to be in your best interest. Meaningful, long lasting progress takes TIME. So, to give you the highest level coaching and accountability and ensure that you are truly successful and safe in your return to sport, we ask for a minimum 3 month commitment and also offer a 6 month initial commitment (though most of our clients are with us for 6-12 months).

    3 months = $450 USD/month

    6 months = $400 USD/month

[We offer payment plans as well]

  • We understand that investing in yourself is a significant decision, and we truly empathize with the financial considerations that come with it. Our coaching is designed to help you stay accountable, show up consistently, and put in the work necessary to achieve meaningful progress.

That said, your financial stability is equally important to us. To support those who may not be ready to commit financially, we offer a ton of free information on our Instagram page that can help you get started on your journey. Our goal is to empower you to recover and build strength at a pace and investment level that feels right for you.

  • We do not accept insurance, but we can provide a receipt of payment and you are free to look into your HSA/FSA and see if this investment could be covered using those accounts.

  • We will be adding some resources for ACLers in 2025, but for now, a great place to start is on the Instagram page: @stephallen.dpt
